Complex pathology data

When a brain is donated to any of the BDR brain banks, a standard set of pathology is performed on it.

This includes :

• CERAD
• Braak staging
• Thal Phase
• a-synuclein (LB Braak, Lewy Pathology Consensus stage)
• TDP43
• Assessment of vascular pathology including infarcts and CAA, VCING

In addition there will be an overall neuropathological diagnosis and comments on any additional pathology present. This data will be freely available on UKBBN. Measures such as post mortem delay, time in fixation and tissue pH are also available.
